Group Leader

To qualify for the Group Leader position, you need a PhD or BS/MS degree and equivalent competence plus supervisory competence for a market or technology area. Responsibilities include supervising the work of two to ten professionals and technicians.

You report to a Technical Manager or higher level professional (depending on the size and nature of the lab and the technical activity performed). You work under limited supervision. Consequently, you have direct, shared impact on market and product/process results, and significant sales impact.

You provide solutions to multiple, complex product/process problems in a market, technology or science area by:

  • estimating resource commitment and probability of success
  • providing technical leadership to the group or project team
  • planning, scheduling and directing the work of a group or project
  • proposing and controlling the budget for a project or group
