The Paint Stores Group Career Path

Once you’ve established a track record of success as Assistant or Store Manager, you can choose the popular career path of a Professional Sales Rep. These sales pros develop market share by selling Sherwin-Williams’ high performance coatings to painting contractors, purchasing agents, manufacturers and other commercial users.

As a Sherwin-Williams Manager, you’re recognized as a leader, salesperson, troubleshooter, marketer, coach, analyst, problem solver, strategist and more. You have the opportunity to manage a "seven-figure" business or sales territory. More importantly, you have the opportunity to put your energy, ability and creativity to work in all aspects of managing our business - and profit from your success!

As you explore other career opportunities, check out different job descriptions to determine the type of position that's best for you. Use the information in the job description to get the certification you need to qualify for real promotional opportunities.

No matter which of these paths you choose, you’re eligible to earn sales incentives based on the performance of your store or sales territory. Our Store Managers and Sales Reps are also eligible to compete for the prestigious recognition of the Spectrum of Excellence Award.

It’s your lead.

Ultimately, it’s your responsibility to take the lead in setting your own individual career goals and fully utilizing the many training programs and tools available to best prepare you for real advancement. Along the way, your Manager, Area Human Resources Manager and many others throughout the company will support you in your career development.

Just remember, a career with Sherwin-Williams has many rewards. But the real reward is knowing you’ve been empowered to make a REAL difference in your own life – that’s Sherwin-Williams.
